Purpose

We exist to manifest the glory of God’s invisible kingdom throughout our community.

Vision

We desire to be a graciously reformed covenant community who glorifies God through our rich worship – both as the church gathered and scattered, our intergenerational fellowship, and our commitment toward multiplying Christ’s church.

Mission

It is our mission to gather, shepherd, form, and send disciples of Christ who worship God in all of life.

Our Story

The story of Lakeside Covenant began years ago with a desire and vision for New Hope to be a church planting church that plants church planting churches.  Through many years of prayer, the Lord brought Matt Matulia into a mentoring relationship with Associate Pastor David Kelly in 2017.  The Lord used this relationship to call Matt into the ministry of Church Planting.  Matt began seminary in the Spring of 2019 and graduated in May of 2022.  Matt and his wife Lindsey were affirmed in their calling to plant a church in their hometown community throughout their time in seminary and most specifically as they went through the Church Planter Assessment process in January of 2022.  Beginning in August of 2022, Matt and Lindsey began meeting in their home bi-weekly with a group of people for fellowship and bible study with the hope and vision that the Lord would begin to build a church out of this group of people.  In addition, the Lord has brought a few key leaders into Matt and Lindsey’s life that have been a key aspect in developing the vision, mission, philosophy of ministry, and core values for Lakeside Covenant.  In January of 2023, Lakeside Covenant officially established a “launch team” consisting of people whom God has called to be a key part of launching Lakeside Covenant Presbyterian Church.  Since then, God has continued to sharpen the vision of Lakeside Covenant and grow their launch team.

As of now, it is Lakeside Covenant’s goal to launch as a church plant of New Hope in January of 2024.  Lakeside Covenant’s launch team is growing and preparing for what is in store for them as they launch a new church in the east Mount Dora/Sorrento community.  When Lakeside Covenant launches in January, they will be gathering in the gym at Round Lake Charter School.  It is their prayer that the Lord would use Lakeside Covenant to manifest the glory of his invisible kingdom throughout the east Lake County community!
